has been established to provide free Calgary addiction counselling, treatment, rehabilitation and advocacy services to both individuals and their family members suffering from behavioral addictions and chemical addictions, such as drugs and alcohol, to improve their quality of life and better their functioning within their families and the community as whole.
Freedom’s Path Recovery Society provides free one on one addictions counselling services and group treatment workshops for recovery in Calgary.
The Pathway to Freedom Workshop addresses causes, symptoms, and solutions for living with unhealthy behavioural patterns, alcoholism and addiction in all of its forms including both chemical and process. Individuals learn to understand and begin the addictions recovery process, through the 12 steps, in a manner that is relatable to each participant. Workshops can be tailored to meet a variety of needs. They can be held for any number of participants privately and confidentially at a location of your choice and can accommodate a variety of time schedules.
Similar to other Calgary recovery centres, we offer both individual and group counselling are targeted towards individuals struggling with chemical and behavioural dependency. In particular, the services are geared towards people who would like to improve their:
Our open groups are held at the Wild Rose United Church in Calgary, Alberta, but can be held at an alternative location based on the interests of a particular group. One on one counselling is either held at the Wild Rose United Church or at an alternate location if more convenient.
Counselling and group workshops are performed by David Lewry, the Executive Director and addictions counsellor. He is a community-driven consultant and leader; a professional with over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector with the ability to share and translate ideas to others.
He is able to engage in team-related activities and lead with influence. David maintains strong relationship building and interpersonal skills and is dedicated to community outreach. He approaches situations with an adaptive view and appreciates on-going education in its various forms. David is confident and passionate in fostering working environments that encourage collaboration and optimization of team performance, individual support and each person’s unique personal stories.
